JoJo has been working hard on his new song BIG. He has been in the studio all week recording. It should be released in about a month once the music video is complete.
Last night JoJo performed it live at the inaugural Musicians Making a Difference “Big Day In.”
JoJo is so excited about this song so we thought we’d give you a sneak peak before he releases it.
JoJo will also be performing this song on the I.AM.LEGACY tour in June with US Hip Hop artist Sevin.
This song BIG was written to highlight JoJo is doing through child sponsorship and to inspire other kids to change the world by using their talents.
No matter how young or old you are, you can make a difference too.
Enjoy.
I have been recording my new song BIG over the last few days, so I thought I would give you a sneak peak on how I do it. Enjoy!
I just got a new microphone to record my songs with. I am really excited, so I recorded a video to show it to you.
I am a HUGE Israel Houghton and New Breed fan!
Last night I went to see Israel Houghton and New Breed live at my church. They were AWESOME and I sang along to all my favourite songs.
At the end of the night, while I was in the foyer of the church, Krystal and Shawn from New Breed came out to talk to everyone. Before I knew what was happening I was rapping for them. They were so excited and asked me to rap again so they could record me on their phones.
My parents are always the last to leave church as they love to talk, but last night it was a bonus.
As Israel Houghton was leaving, one of New Breed dragged me over to him and told him he just has to listen to me rap. So I got to rap the first verse of Throw Ya Hands to my hero Israel Houghton.
It all happened so fast so unfortunately I didn’t get to record it on video, but one of our friends got this photo of Israel and me.
Last night was the best night of my life.
JoJo.
In the movie Amazing Grace John Newton declares to William Wilberforce, “God sometimes does his work with a gentle drizzle.” Sometimes our efforts can seem so insignificant in the face of the 27 million children and adults that are still being exploited around the world in slavery, and the 22,000 children who die each day due to poverty. However, I am a great believer in that if we can just change even one life, there is great power in this.

Judo has been asking to get on stage and rap with his brother JoJo Rock for over a year now. We finally thought he was ready and today he got on stage at a Krosswerdz function and performed for the first time.
He lost all his dance moves when he got in front of the audience, but he did well for his first time. Go Judo!
JoJo attended the Krosswerdz Hip Hop church in Sydney on Saturday 29th January. What an amazing experience!
Krosswerdz is a group of Hip Hop artists who have a positive Christ centered message in their music. They have been super supportive of JoJo.
JoJo has been listening to the Krosswerdz music over the last months and was able to meet his favourite rappers today incuding Oakbridge, Izzy, Wisdom, 21 Monks and Mistery. Of course The Profit was also there, JoJo’s favourite rapper who has become a good friend.
At the end of the night there was an open mic where anyone can get up and bust a few rhymes. JoJo was pumped all night and jumped up for the first time and gave it everything he had. Check out the video to see how he went.
On the way home JoJo couldn’t stop talking about meeting all his new found rapping heroes and playing basketball with Izzy.
I was blessed to see the Krosswerdz guys encouraging and spending time with JoJo. He was so excited. What a great bunch of role models for JoJo in the Hip Hop scene.
Photos from the night
JoJo was featured on the Channel 7 program Today Tonight in Australia on 23rd December 2011. He was the last segment before Christmas. What a great way to finish the show with the message of hope. Thanks Today Tonight for organising this at the last minute.
JoJo didn’t see the program live because he was in a live radio interview at the time.
You can see the segment on the Today Tonight website at http://au.news.yahoo.com/today-tonight/lifestyle/article/-/12448111/christmas-carol-rap/
JoJo was interviewed on Light FM 89.9 in Melbourne. He is becoming a master at promoting the cause of child sponsorship through Compassion.
On the weekend on December 17th December 2011 JoJo and Sarah Otto performed a version of Oh Holy Night together at their local church as part of their Christmas Spectacular. The cast and crew worked extremely hard to pull this production together and there were 4 late nights of rehearsals in the week leading up to the performance.
There were 4 performances over the weekend to over 2,400 people.
Sometimes we forget just how small JoJo still is, until we see him on such a big stage next to Sara.
