The Story behind JoJo Rock’s version of Amazing Grace

JoJo Rock and Ozzy from The Sowers Group believe in child sponsorship through Compassion. As a sponsor to his Compassion child Charles who lives in Uganda, JoJo has seen significant changes in Charle’s life. Through their exchange of letters, JoJo has seen the benefits afforded to Charles by his monthly contribution.

JoJo’s support doesn’t only help Charles physically with food, education and spiritual guidance, JoJo and Charles are also building a strong bond with Charles expressing in his latest letter, “I do not regret being born on this earth, because I know see a future.”

Ozzy on the other hand was in Charles position over 20 years ago. When his dad died at a young age, Ozzy’s mum was left uneducated with 8 children and little opportunity to earn an income. Life was difficult in The Congo and the family struggled. Read More

Rapping with no teeth

When you are 8 years old, there are many changes you go through, including losing your teeth. This is not usually a problem unless you are recording a rap song which requires pronouncing a huge amount of words in a very short period of time.

When JoJo recorded his first song Throw Ya Hands at 7 he had just lost his front two teeth which made it very difficult to say words starting with “Th”. If you listen carefully you will notice he says “Frow Ya Hands” instead of “Throw Ya Hands.” This is what happens when rappers lose their front teeth.

JoJo gives away 600 CD’s to inspire kids

On 23th August JoJo recieved his first batch of CD’s. The CD contains his first two songs Throw Ya hands and Lift Your Praise with an into of JoJo explaining why he recorded the songs. To date JoJo has given away 600 of these CD’s to children.

Music that breathes life into kids

Have you ever listened to the words of the songs on the music charts today? You will be very surprised if you haven’t. It seems the artists are pushing the limits of what is decent and acceptable to adults in every song they released.

The sad thing is many kids are listening and memorizing these songs as well making them normal and acceptable to our next generation.
